Instructions

Wash, trim, pat the salmon dry, and set aside. In a small bowl mix the sesame oil, red wine vinegar, soy sauce, honey, blood orange juice, garlic, ginger, cumin, chili powder, and paprika. If desired, use a food processor to blend. Place the salmon in the refrigerator in a ziploc bag with marinade for at least one hour. Preheat the oven to 400F. Remove the salmon from the fridge and top with sesame seeds. Bake for 20 minutes, or until lightly crisp on the top and flakey on the inside. Serve immediately!

Salmon works really well with Pinot Noir, Alcoholic Drink, and White Wine. To decide on white or red, you should consider your seasoning and sauces. Chardonnay is a great friend to buttery, creamy dishes, while sauvignon blanc can complement herb or citrus-centric dishes. A light-bodied, low-tannin red such as the pinot noir goes great with broiled or grilled salmon. The Etude Heirloom Pinot Noir with a 5 out of 5 star rating seems like a good match. It costs about 89 dollars per bottle.
